How to start a cryotherapy business

Are you considering opening a cryotherapy business?  But you don’t know where to start? Hello my name is Dr. Louis Hilliard I have over 15 years clinical experience.  I have owned, operated and helped thousands of customers start up and operate successful spas and clinics all over the world.  In this article I will discuss with you important aspects you need to know when considering a cryotherapy as a profession. Lean how to start a cryotherapy business and what you need to consider before jumping in.

How are you going to buy a cryotherapy saunsa

Cryotherapy machines are expensive and starting up a new business can be very costly.  It is important to know what type of cryotherapy machine you want and can you afford it.  Cryotherapy machines can range from $20,000 and exceeding  $100,000’s.  So know what you can afford and how you are going to pay for it.

Personal Funds.  If you have the money and you can afford to buy without borrowing is the best. This will make your purchase easy if you already have the personal funds or credit cards already available.

Financing. There are multiple financing companies that will only finance small business and usually it is at a high interest rate.  I suggest you first try you personal banking institution or opening a no interest credit card.  You will need a credit score of 680 or better.  The stronger the score and the more you pay upfront will improve you chances of getting approved for the loan.

Franchising / Investors  Cryotherapy franchise is becoming popular for people that want to start up a new business.  It is important to  know and understand the Pro’s and Con’s of doing so.

Disadvantages of franchising: Profit sharing (10-15%) Ouch that is not including the franchise, coaching, management and seminars fees.  There is not much for personal expression or business ideas.  You will be giving guid lines, prices and any change or deviation will need pre-approval.

Advantages of cryotherapy franchise is that you do not need any prior business or cryotherapy experience.  The management will provide you all the training, manuals, guide lines and support when you are in working with them.

Finding a cryotherapy Location

Location. Location,  Location.  Finding the ideal location can be one of the most important aspects when considering opening.  There have been may great business ideas that have went down the drain because the location or community could not support it.

Is there a need in the community Where you are located is there a business or population that  sees the value in cryotherapy.  It is important to identify who is your ideal customer and how you plan to present your business in front of them.

Businesses That Complement Cryotherapy:

  1. Gyms / Fitness Centers – Cryotherapy works best for serious athletes since it can improve recovery time and decrease downtime. So its most beneficial for professional athletes, body builders and cross-fit trainers. It’s no surprise to us when we see more and more high end gyms and fitness centers add cryotherapy to their facilities so that their members can take advantage of such benefits. Find a gym or fitness center and use that location for your cryo business to maximize your revenue.

  2. Sports Teams – More and more professional sports teams are now looking into and using cryo. Some team even have their own chambers!

  3. Recovery Centers – Cryotherapy has been widely used to enhance recovery from injuries. Recovery centers all across the world are now looking at cryotherapy since it compliments their existing business and can increase their growth and ROI.

  4. Medical Spas – When we think of a medical spa we think of results. People go to medical spas for advanced therapies such as anti-aging, laser treatments and such. Cryotherapy shares a lot of that in common and most med spas have customers that are interested in if not already doing, cryotherapy.

  5. Physical Therapists – Cryotherapy augments any physical therapy since the treatment techniques aid one-another in getting the best results possible for the patient. Find a physical therapy center and start your cryo business next to it.

  6. Chiropractors – Cryo has become increasingly popular among the chiropractic space. This is mainly because chiropractic patients continue to see positive results and therefore demand keeps increasing.

  7. Tanning Salons – Cryo chambers can operate with minimum supervision. Much like tanning salons, a one or two personnel staff can operate and manage a cryo business with ease. Learn how the XR chamber does this with ease.

  8. High Schools and Colleges – Some say the whole cryo scene is just a trend. Although we don’t think that we do believe catering to early adopters and enthusiasts and making it possible for them to find out on their on how cryo therapy can benefit them can benefit our business.

Lease a space  In my of the business that I mentioned it my be possible for you to be able to lease a room or office space for you to conduct you business.  This will give you an already steady flow of customers the you can market too.  If you can afford a rent your own spot you will need to make sure you have the customer base or great marketing strategy.

Mobile cryotherapy Is one of my favorite business advice I can give some one.  The start up cost is low and you are not stuck in one location.  You have the ability to travel and partner up with may successful businesses.
